Internet Dating Scams
Before you even think about single on-line dating, you must know about internet dating scams. Most people are on the dating sites for the same reasons you are, but even on the best internet dating sites there are some weirdos out there. It means you never know who is behind this pretty photo: a real beautiful woman or a con artist who downloaded a photo of an unknown model.
So, when you're looking to find love online, how can you protect yourself from being taken by Internet con artists using dating agencies, singles sites and online personals to reach their victims? Here is the simple guidance that will make your use of online dating sites safe and secure:
1. The Prostitute Scam
First, when you view a profile, look out for things like sleazy screen names. Sincere women don't choose screen names like "girl gone wild", "nude women", "s e x woman" or "s e x y woman". Prostitutes are straightforward and place profiles with dating agencies and on dating sites to solicit business. Their profiles contain steamy self-descriptions, sex pix, live web sex and girls with thongs and they don't waste time letting you know they are after horny matches. Any woman who talks about loving sex and experimenting in bed or who talks about being a millionaire match online is most likely not for real.
2. The Phone Scam
This is the variation of the old phone scam where the woman asks you to call them, and when you do, you get a bill in the mail for hundreds of dollars (1-900 number).
3. The Travel Scam
Remember, a woman with gorgeous professional photos and a vague profile almost always mean trouble. This woman will list her location as being local and when you start talking to her, she will reveal that she is from overseas on somali chat rooms and will ask you to help her with travel expenses to visit you.
4. The Nigerian Postal Scam
The woman pretends to be a relative of a diseased or gravely ill government official who asks for your help in a financial transaction. Gold diggers that want to milk you for money will say something vague that can fit anybody.
These tips can help you avoid looking for online romance in the wrong places. If you get too deeply involved with these manipulative women, these internet dating scams can significantly hurt not only your heart, but your finances, too.

my husband swears he is not cheating on me, but i looked in his myspace and he is asking girls for naked pix??
we have talked about it numerous times and i cant get him to stop. he gives me his password and says he has nothing to hide . . what else can i say?
My ex-bf and I had the same problem...and sad to say after 5 years this is the reason why we broke up. He NEVER took blame for it and I always felt that what he was doing was wrong. It's wrong for a guy who is in a relationship to seek anything (specially nude pictures) from other women. He should have more respect to the relationship...and turning to someone else in an inappropriate manner (in this situation a sexual manner) is a form of infidelity. Now that I've moved on in another relationship, with a real & faithful man does he realize that what he did was wrong. It took him 1 year to apologize to me..
I'm not saying u have to be this drastic because u are married...I was just dating the guy BUT u have to draw boundaries. He has to respect your wishes just as u respect his. My aunt just started this whole on-line flirting thing. She has been married for about 8 years...and she was jokingly telling me the other day that she actually wants to meet up with one of the guys she met on-line. At first this whole thing was just for "fun"..but u see now it's tempting her into infidelity & that's not where u want ur husband to go. The good thing is that he gives u the password and allows u to view messages...the bad thing is what if that isnt his only account?? What if he only lets u see what he wants u to see?? How will u ever know if he truly has stopped? He can check from work or any place he goes.
U have to show him that this affected the trust u had in him & that he has to be a respectable man...the one u married. If he is turning to myspace to look @ women it is an indication that perhaps he is missing something at home. Try spicing up ur sex life...doing things that once did as newlyweds that probably died down. He's probably in need of attention...so just try being attentive to his needs and spending more quality time with him. If that doesn't work then u and him are going to have to talk..and put restrictions on the computer so he can't access myspace..that way he'll be forced to respect u.
