Electronic Pan Tilt Zoom (ePTZ)

Every Nione Security Megapixel includes digital pan/tilt/zoom ePTZ. ePTZ was developed to address problems with traditional mechanical pan/tilt/zoom devices. Mechanical devices let users redirect the camera but only record what you are zoomed in on. This can be a problem when there is more than one subject in the scene or if nobody is controlling the camera.

    The Nione Security’s Electronic Pan/Tilt/Zoom ePTZ lets you virtually move around a large image using a smaller viewing window. Since it is virtual, you can still record the entire scene in Multi-Megapixel resolution even though you may be digitally “zoomed in”. This means you never miss a thing.

    ePTZ also saves bandwidth. In many cases you don’t need to view a Multi-Megapixel image when you are accessing video over a WAN or the internet. Nione Security’s ePTZ enables you to view a much smaller image that shows the entire field of view in a smaller window. If you see something that interests you, simply zoom digitally and the Nione Security’s Multi-Megapixel resolution kicks in. As you zoom in, ePTZ introduces more detail so you don’t suffer the distortion typical with other products.

About the Author

Why people uses lower MPixel on their camera instead of the highest.?

I've seen a lot of people using 12 Megapixel camera; but when taking pictures they set it to take 8 Megapixel.

I know 12MP picture are bigger than 8MP and take much space but that's not the case . Why don't they use the camera at its highest performance?

I'm a bit confused about this ,can you please help me clear this out

Because they want to fit everything onto a single 1gb card (or smaller) and have no idea what effect it will have on the final produce.
The vast majority of DSLR users have no idea what raw is or what resolution actually means.

I mean, it is a "professional" camera after all - the pictures are bound to be great aren't they!!
